WEARING THE BLUE! |
|
Many young women have thought of becoming a Polar Bear but have been reluctant to call us or tryout for one of our teams. After learning about all of the outstanding accomplishments of our past and present players they feel the Polar Bears may be above their head skill wise. We have heard some players say that they "are not good enough" to join the Bears. We have heard others say that they are too young to be a Bear. Others have said we can't play until we have been invited to tryout. Well, all that is not true! Whether you are inexperienced, have a few years of experience or are an an advanced or elite player, the Polar Bears have a place for you. The Polar Bears have several teams at all levels, each designed to meet the needs of those particular players. The Polar Bears have teams for girls as young as eight to teams for seniors in high school. We are proud of the accomplishments of the elite players who have played and still do play for the Bears. However, we are just as proud of the players who spend a season developing on one of our teams which are not bound for postseason regional and national play. To watch a player progress throughout a season and be miles ahead of where she was when she hit the ice in September is just as exciting as winning a National Championship, having a Polar Bear (or four of them) win the Olympic gold medal, or seeing a former Polar Bear earning her medical degree. We encourage you to consider the Polar Bears and see how it feels to wear the blue! Whether your motivation is to get exposure to prep school or college coaches, learn the game of ice hockey, continue to improve your hockey skills or have a chance at winning a Regional or National Championship, the Bears have a spot for you.
